So, here's the scoop: the recent article on TechCrunch (btw, thanks Ms. Lomas!) has snowballed into something that none of us here at Jomi expected, with media and resellers across the globe asking when we are expecting to start mass production. This sudden attention has motivated the team to work even harder, and we ask for your patience while we finalize and field test the Jomi Band prototype, making sure that it matches our quality requirements once it's ready to hit the market. We are spending this week in Finland, working on the prototype and we'll be updating this blog post daily so you can keep up with all the developments.
Monday, April 22 - The team left Tallinn at the crack of dawn to make our way to Rusko, Finland for a 4-day product development session with Alphaform. Over the past 15 years, Alphaform has become one of the leading rapid prototype manufacturers in Europe, and they come highly recommended by other Estonian startups.

Also, we discovered that Jomi has been featured in two (here, and here) separate articles on CNN.com. Dare we say, WooohhHOOOOooo!? The remainder of the evening was spent answering press requests and setting up interviews with potential resellers in both Europe and the US.
Tuesday, April 23 – We were very excited to finally meet our counterparts at Alphaform in the morning. After the initial presentation, we toured the facilities and familiarized ourselves with their production capabilities.

Afterwards, we started narrowing down suitable materials for Jomi Band’s prototype and discussing the technical aspects of production.

Jomi and Alphaform discuss technical production elements
The day was wrapped up by brainstorming on the technical design aspects so we could relay that information to our design team in Estonia (Helen & Ragnar, you guys rock!), who began finalizing the 3D CAD files necessary for printing the first batch of prototypes tomorrow.
Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
